Returns & Exchange Policy
General Return Policy
You may return unused items within 30 days of purchase for a refund, as long as they are in their original condition and packaging and accompanied by the original receipt. For online purchases, the 30-day period begins on the date the shipment is marked as delivered by the carrier.
Once we receive your return, Chez Mummum & Opa will inspect the item to ensure it is in resalable condition. If the product shows any signs of use, damage, or missing packaging, a restocking fee may apply, or the return may be declined.
Approved refunds will be issued within five business days using the original payment method.
Opened or assembled items cannot be returned.
If you prefer an exchange or store credit, items may also be returned within 30 days of purchase (or 30 days from delivery for online orders). No refunds or exchanges will be accepted without a receipt or gift receipt.
A copy of your proof of purchase is required whether the return is processed in store or by mail.
Exchanges are handled as new orders—you will receive a credit for the returned item and be charged for the replacement. Please note that the refund and new order steps may not occur simultaneously.
After 30 days, all items are considered final sale. To maintain the quality and integrity of our merchandise, we do not accept returns of products that are used, damaged, or not clean.
Clearance items are always final sale.
Final Sale and Non-Returnable Items
For health and safety reasons, certain products are final sale and cannot be returned once opened or used. These include (but are not limited to):
· Breast pumps and accessories
· Wi-Fi–enabled baby monitors
· Bath tubs and bathing accessories
· Opened skincare, toothbrushes, or toothpaste
· Teethers, nipples, and pacifiers once opened
· Safety gates once opened
· Potties
· Gift cards
· Clearance merchandise
· Special order and pre-order items
All items marked as “clearance” are final sale and not eligible for return, exchange, or store credit.
Shipping and Return Costs
Shipping fees from the original order are non-refundable, and all return shipping costs are the customer’s responsibility.
Orders that are refused at delivery or not picked up from carrier depots will be treated as returns and are subject to return shipping charges.
In-Store Return Policy
For in-store purchases:
- Refunds are available within 10 days of purchase, issued to the original form of payment.
- Between 11 and 30 days, returns qualify for a store credit only with a valid receipt.
- Returns accompanied by a gift receipt may be exchanged for a gift card within 30 days.
After 30 days, all sales are final.
Returned items must be unused, in original packaging, and in resalable condition.
Gift cards cannot be redeemed for cash.
Orders, layaways, furniture, car seats, parts, clearance, floor models, personal care items, and AS-IS or discounted items are all final sale.
Gift Registry Returns
Gifts purchased through a registry may be returned for store credit within 90 days of purchase, provided a gift receipt or proof of purchase is presented.
Final sale items are excluded, and all other return conditions apply.
Special and Pre-Orders
All special orders, pre-orders, and furniture purchases are final sale and cannot be cancelled or returned once payment is received.
Special orders are items not typically in stock and may have estimated delivery times. These estimates are based on supplier information and are not guaranteed. Chez Mummum & Opa is not responsible for supplier delays or backorders.
You will be contacted once your order is ready for pickup or shipment.
Furniture and Carpets
All furniture and carpet items are protected by the manufacturer’s warranty.
Each supplier may have its own process for handling warranty claims or part replacements, and Chez Mummum & Opa follows the manufacturer’s procedures exactly.
Please inspect your furniture upon delivery. If any item arrives damaged, sign for it as “Damaged” and immediately contact the store or email customerservice@mumopa.ca.
If a manufacturing defect is found, contact us within two business days of delivery or pickup at customerservice@mumopa.ca or through the store of purchase.
Please include photos of the damage, a copy of your receipt or gift receipt, the model number, manufacture date, and product description.
Mail-In and Online Returns
If you wish to return an online order by mail within the 30-day return period, please contact our Customer Service Team at returns@mumopa.ca for instructions.
Refunds are processed once the returned items are received and inspected.
Products that do not meet return requirements will not be refunded and will remain as final sale.
A customer service representative will contact you if this occurs.
